A three-place design, the 2-32 is a rare breed of sailplane, having the ability to carry a pilot plus two fairly intimate passengers aloft sitting on the small rear padded bench.

The SGS 2-32 was the world's highest performance production multi-seater sailplane and a prolific record-setter in 1960s and 70s. Among its records were speed over 100, 300 and 500 km courses, and numerous distance, out-and-return records. In addition it held altitude records for both men and women and held the multi-place world and national records for absolute altitude and altitude gain (10.809 m./ 35.463 ft. and 7.8481 m./ 24.545 ft.) in 1975.

Schweizer SGS 2-32 the vista cruiser of sailplanes.

The 2-32 from Schweizer represents the height of all-metal sailplane manufacture by the Schweizer company in the mid 70s. With its raked tail surfaces and bubble canopy, it has all the looks of a late 50s jet fighter. To me is reminiscent of the F-86 or later F-100 in design and is sure to be a real head-turner at the flying field or slope.

Our design features all the scale details you would want with all the performance you could hope for including fully balanced upper and lower surface airbrakes, full flying horizontal tail and side hinged canopy.

This is the only truly scale radio controlled kit of the 2-32 ever offered. At one time Sterling models offered a scale free-flight design of only 42" span which due to the high aspect and relatively narrow tip chord, had difficulty with stable flight. Flightglass also offered a fairly well engineered glass fuselage and built up wing design of the 2-32 but it used a non-scale wing planform.

The TMRC model is designed to be exact scale and is offered in both a woodie version as well as an ARF epoxyglass fuselage and obechi-sheeted foam wing version. Parts are common and completely interchangeable so this ship can be built with the glass fuse and woodie wings to meet the requirements scale contest rules which require wooden wings to qualify.
